At Florin UMC we have a variety of ministries and ways you can give…
Our Ministries
General Fund: Your gift helps with all things that fall within the general budget, such as our pastor’s salary, utilities, conference giving and other general expenses.
Building Fund/Loan Repayment: Your offering will be put toward the up keep of and improvements to our church buildings and grounds. Or it can be directed to our loan repayment.
Memorial Fund: Your gift given in memory of a loved one may be designated to a specific church program or left to the discernment of our Leadership Team, which includes our pastor.
SSIP Food Closet: Funding is passed on to the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership’s ministry to offer groceries to those financially-challenged. https://www.ssipfoodcloset.org/
United Women in Faith (previously UMW): Your contribution will help to fund such things as UMC missionaries, attendance to UWF events and the good work of ministries at our national UWF committee. https://uwfaith.org/what-we-do/what-we-fund/
United Methodist Men: Your donation is used for specific projects of the men’s ministry such as our Youth Group and church repairs.
Children’s Ministry: Your monies are put toward providing materials used for our children, such as books, art supplies and play equipment.
Youth Fund: Your gift will help a youth member participate in group activities and trips or fund items used in raising funds for designated non-profits (ie: Standford Sierra Youth & Families and Wind Youth Services).
Holiday Gift Cards: Your gifts will be used to buy gift cards for church and Rutter Middle School families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Online Giving
On Nov 8, 2020, the "Tithe.ly" Online Giving app for Florin United Methodist Church was launched. Using this app you’ll be able to give online using two secure methods: online via our website, and also through the Tithe.ly mobile app! With this new giving platform, you can securely give from the convenience of your smartphone or computer!
“Tithe.ly” was chosen for a few reasons: our church organization was literally up and running within a few hours; integrating Tithe.ly giving into our church website was easy; besides giving in-church, via email or by drop-off, Tithe.ly offers you one more way to give; the fees are very reasonable; it's easy to use and there are NO monthly fees or minimum donation requirements.
You can set up recurring giving, designate funds to a particular cause i.e. General Fund, Building Fund/Loan Repayment, SSIP Food Closet, United Women in Faith (previously UMW), United Methodist Men, Youth Fund, Thanksgiving Gift Cards, and you have the option to cover the payment processing fees (approximately 3% + 30¢).
A receipt will be emailed to you for your tax-deductible contribution.
If you have an iPhone or Android smartphone, click the appropriate links below to download the app. Once it’s downloaded, open the app and create your account. You’ll need to create a 4-digit PIN to secure your account.
Once you’re finished with the setup process and you’re back at the home screen, you’ll see a button that says “Find Nearest Church.” Tap this button and Florin United Methodist Church should display. Tap on “Give Now” and follow the prompts.
